Video and pictures from this (Tuesday) morning’s three-alarm fire in Kensington, Maryland (Montgomery County). The fire was reported around 5:15 at the Waterford on University Boulevard.
Dana Hedgpeth, The Washington Post:
Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire Department, said the fire was on the ninth floor in a bedroom and the building was evacuated. More than 100 firefighters were on the scene, and they encountered “very heavy smoke conditions,” according to Piringer.
Two civilians and one firefighter were taken to a hospital. All had injuries that were not life-threatening, Piringer said. Residents in about a dozen condo units were displaced but the rest of the residents were able to return, officials said.
