Cape May County Herald:

The Avalon Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on July 7 at 5:45 p.m.  The structure fire was located at 5149 Ocean Drive in Avalon.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a significant working structure fire. Two occupants inside the home were able to escape the fire safely and without injury.

The fire appeared to have started on the south side of the home, on the first floor before quickly spreading to the second floor.  The structure experienced significant fire, smoke, and water damage.
