The video, above, by J Scott Hatfield, shows a flashover last (Friday) night during a fire at 8th and Chestnut in Emmaus, Pennsylvania (Lehigh County) that briefly trapped firefighters. One firefighter is seen crawling out the front door through the flames. Bill Rohrer at Newsworking reports that two more firefighters were trapped on the second floor. Injuries to three firefighters were minor.

More video below below from Mike Eck and radio traffic from the incident posted by Bill.

There is more video, below, that includes some of J Scott Hatfield’s video and additional shots from Mike Nester of Nester Video Production.

Paul Muschick, The Morning Call:

Three firefighters were injured when a “flashover” occurred as they fought the blaze on the second floor, Nelson said. One suffered an ankle injury, one suffered steam burns to the neck and one was taken for evaluation. All were treated and released.

The fire was reported at about 11 p.m. after a smoke detector sounded in the home, Nelson said. He said the fire started in the basement, where there was no smoke detector, and apparently had been burning for a while.
