Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews responded shortly after 11:30 a.m. to reports of a structure fire on Mary Lynn Lane. They arrived to find a ground-floor apartment and the unit above it engulfed in flames, according to a Fire Department news release. A team of 31 firefighters was able to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading through the large complex.

Capt. Jon Rudnicki said the fire started in the ground-floor unit and spread to the second-story apartment.
