Caught on camera: Green Bay Fire firefighter attacked

Lieutenant was trying to get man out of the middle of an intersection

At about 10:40 a.m. (Wednesday), a fire department lieutenant came upon a man walking in traffic in the intersection of Broadway at Dousman. The lieutenant approached the man and tried to get him to move to the sidewalk.

“The individual was not cooperative with the lieutenant and appeared to be becoming agitated,” reads a statement from the fire department.

The man was not cooperative and became agitated, prompting the lieutenant to call for police assistance. The man then hit the lieutenant several times. The fight continued on the ground until several passing drivers stopped to help, the department said.

Jamie Dustin Sinclair faces charges of obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct, and battery to a firefighter – a Class H Felony.

According to a criminal complaint, a Green Bay Police officer saw Sinclair punch a firefighter in the head. The complaint says Sinclair was standing in the way of traffic at the intersection of Dousman Street and North Broadway, and the firefighter was trying to convince Sinclair to get off the road. The criminal complaint sites a witness who recorded video of the assault.
