It is not Rhett Fleitz's blog that I am referring to in my headline. The fire critics in this case are a young man and woman who stumbled upon a fire in Sylvan Lake in Edmonton yesterday afternoon. You will find that some of the expletives I warned about are directed at the firefighters. The clip below was shot by the same people just a few minutes earlier.
According to news accounts the fire ended up taking out four homes and damaged seven others. There were no serious injuries.
Above is a short clip shot by some different citizens.
Here is an excerpt from Laura Drake's article in the Edmonton Journal:
The blaze broke out around 5 p.m. in the Wildrose Drive area, according to Sylvan Lake RCMP. When fire crews arrived, two houses were completely engulfed in flames.
Two more were enveloped before firefighters could get it under control. The heat was so intense, RCMP said, that siding on houses across the street melted off.
