Two videos of Coatesville, Pennsylvania collapse. Firefighters injured as apartment stairwell gives way.

Second video that shows firefighter(s) in stairwell before collapse

More from the Secret List

As you have probably seen by now on The Secret List and elsewhere, seven or eight firefighters were injured early Friday morning at an apartment building fire in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. According to news reports, the firefighters had a variety of injuries including a firefighter with a broken leg and burns. While information is vague, it appears at least one of more were hurt in the collapse of the stairwell as seen on the videos above.

If you look closely at the start of the embedded clip will see the handlight of what appears to be a firefighter walking down from the 3rd floor landing to the second floor (freeze frames below). It is just then the stairwell collapses. The link to the second video from WPVI-TV is a wider shot but stays with the collapse the whole time and doesn’t pan off.

Here’s some of what Billy Goldfeder wrote about the fire:

The building was occupied (all residents were safely removed) and is reportedly light wood truss construction with sprinklers throughout, but not on the balconies or attic space. There was also apparently a fire wall to the right of where the collapse occurred.
