A new fire chief for the Nation’s Capital – Early report that interim Chief Jones is out
All indications that an announcement could come as early as tomorrow naming a new chief of the DC Fire & EMS Department. So far. local news is reporting that the interim chief, Eugene Jones, will not be getting the top job. We will add to this post as more tweets and news is reported. Latest tweets first.

The District’s interim fire chief will not be keeping the job, ABC7 News has learned.
Mayor Muriel Bowser plans to name a permanent chief Monday, and a source in her office said it wouldn’t be Eugene Jones.
Jones has been in the role as acting chief since July when embattled chief Kenneth Ellerbe stepped down from the post after three years of complaints about poor service from the fire department.
