Must see pre-ignition video: Anatomy of a a car fire

This is one of those unusual videos that begins just before or as the fire starts. It has some interesting citizen commentary by videographer Flakey Flakes McFlakenson, who also called 911 to report his dad’s 1989 Pontiac Trans-Am GTA was burning. The video also shows the power line coming down as firefighters arrive to put out the fire.

While I just discovered the video, it happened on April 2. The responding fire company appears to be the LaGrange Fire District in Dutchess County, New York.

Here’s some of the description with the video:

One lovely spring evening, my father decided to power wash the engine bay in a 1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA he was about to sell. Somehow, he created a SEVERE misfire by doing so. In his attempts to “dry out” the engine so it would run normally again (revving the piss out of it), lots of raw fuel from the misfire are dumped into the catalytic converters, making them melt and shoot molten metal chunks out of the tail pipe (as seen in video).
