Video from Frank Wesnoski and radio traffic from FiregroundAudio of a three-alarm fire on Tuesday evening in Darby Borough, Pennsylvania (Delaware County) that destroyed Harry’s Check Cashing and a home-remodeling business.

Rose Quinn, Delaware County Times:

A fire erupted in a commercial building Tuesday night, destroying two businesses, shutting down SEPTA trolley services and sending at least one person to the hospital, authorities at the scene said.

Dozens of firefighters responded to the scene at 503 Main St., contributing to extinguishing efforts under the command of Chief Chris Caruso of Darby Borough Fire Co. No. 1.

(Darby Borough Police Chief Robert) Smythe described the situation as “catastrophic,” primarily because of the obvious structural damages to the building, and subsequent impact on the two borough businesses. For that reason, Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division Lt. Scott Bireley and Detective Tom Scarpato were called in to assist in the ongoing investigation, he said.
