Chief wants Columbus, OH firefighter fired for sex in the firehouse

Fire Chief Gregory Paxton has recommended the termination of Marc Cain.
An internal investigation found that Cain carried out an affair with an 18-year-old woman while working at Station 17.
The investigation found that Cain had sex many times at Station 17 starting in September 2011 and continuing until March of 2013.
A Battalion Chief for Station 17 is also under investigation for not reporting Cain’s actions.
Firefighter Marc Cain was placed on administrative duties after Fire Chief Gregory Paxton charged him with dishonesty, insubordination and failure of good behavior.
Cain has been on administrative duty since Friday, Jan. 17. Paxton recommended in writing to the Public Safety Director that Cain be fired.
The case now awaits the Public Safety Director Office’s final review. Director Mitchell Brown is to make the final decision, which the division is expected to follow.
