Above is radio traffic from firefighterdispatch and Broadcastify.com of the wall collapse that briefly trapped and injured two firefighters in Fort Myers, Florida. The collapse happened as firefighters were setting up for an initial defensive operation on the burning structure.

Marisa Kendall, News-Press.com:

But emergency personnel came running and were able to lift the debris off Fort Myers firefighters Tony Price and Shane Remy. They survived with nothing more serious than broken bones.Price and Remy were responding to a fire at 2746 Blake St. in the Lincoln Park neighborhood off Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

“The strength of the helmet kept the wall up off his head,” Fort Myers Fire Chief Kenny Dobson said. “It certainly could have been worse for both of them.”

Price suffered a broken collar bone and broken ribs, and Remy suffered a fractured pelvis. They are recuperating at Lee Memorial Hospital, where they likely will remain for several days, according to Battalion Chief A.J. Smith with the Fort Myers Fire Department.
