DC firefighter arrested at firehouse for off-duty sex offense while in uniform

There is more trouble for the D.C. fire department. Another firefighter has been arrested on criminal charges.
Antwan Jordon has been accused of second-degree sex abuse. He was arrested Wednesday night at his firehouse, Engine 15, in Anacostia.
Jordon’s arrest brings the number of firefighters accused of wrongdoing in the last several months to more than 12.
A court affidavit filed in the case says D.C. police detectives found surveillance video showing Jordon in his firefighter uniform slapping a woman’s buttocks as she picked up her child at a Southeast D.C. elementary school.
The affidavit says the woman knows Jordon and claims he has touched her before.
The affidavit says on Wednesday, February 26, Jordon was picking up his child in the basement of Randle Highlands Elementary School when he started to give the woman a high-five as she walked past and then slapped her on the right side of her buttocks.
The woman who made the complaint says it’s not the first time Jordon has made unwanted advances by touching her.
Court records show no other arrests for Jordon. However, FOX 5 has discovered court records showing two other firefighters have been arrested multiple times in the District on drug, alcohol, assault and traffic violations.
Charles Sullivan, who resigned in December, is currently awaiting trial on drug charges after being pulled over in October in Southeast D.C.
A court affidavit says Sullivan told police, “Come on officer, these (drugs) are recreational, I am a firefighter, I will lose my job.”
And it’s not the first time he made a reference to his job. In August of 2012, Sullivan was pulled over for having heavily-tinted windows and got into an argument with police, telling one of them: “I am going to kill you! I am going to lose my job because of you. I am a firefighter.”
In a third case, police say Sullivan was being arrested for possession of marijuana when his mother said, “I know that’s not his weed, he’s a fireman and a honor roll student…”
Another firefighter, James Bunn, who was arrested for driving an ambulance on a suspended license, has also pled guilty to a DUI charge and has an arrest for possession of marijuana. Court records also show two other minor charges in the District.
Back in January, we asked the fire chief about what were then-nine firefighter arrests in less than three months.
“Well, my reaction of course is disappointment,” said Chief Kenneth Ellerbe. “Any time we have a firefighter who is arrested for off-duty conduct, it is disappointing. We take them through a process and we have to see how that turns out. And I want to make note that even though they have been arrested, it doesn’t mean they have been convicted.”
Court records show Bunn pled guilty to driving on a suspended license and was given a 30-day suspended sentence.
With the number of arrests stacking up, Chief Ellerbe recently put out a memo to the department reminding members they need to self-report any arrests. Several people then came forward and admitted arrests for minor offenses.
A spokesperson for the fire department says Jordon has been placed on administrative leave and Bunn is a disciplinary review.
