Raw video: Charlotte, NC ladder truck overturns & catches fire

Video above from Tripp Roakes showing Charlotte (NC) Fire Department’s Ladder 32 on fire after it overturned today (Thursday) while on a medical call. News reports indicate all four firefighters were belted and escaped with minor injuries.

Four Charlotte firefighters were injured Thursday morning when a fire truck overturned on a residential street in southern Mecklenburg County near the state line, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 8:20 a.m. on Ardrey Kell Road at Bridgehampton Club Drive. That is in the BridgeHampton neighborhood, west of U.S. 521.

Charlotte fire Capt. Mark Basnight said four firefighters were taken to Carolinas Medical Center “with minor injuries.”

WCNC-TV:

An official from the Charlotte Fire Department said the crew was responding to a medical call when the truck flipped on Ardrey Kell Road and Bridgehampton Club Drive.

The truck caught on fire just before a second fire truck arrived on scene and put out the flames.
