KY firehouse destroyed by fire
The fire began around 5 a.m. at the Mount Eden (KY) Volunteer Fire Department at 260 Van Buren Road near Taylorsville Lake.
Lt. John Butler said it’s something he still can’t believe.
“To hear the tones go off and they’re dispatching your firehouse is on fire. It’s something I never want to hear again and really never thought I would hear,” Butler said.
When Butler arrived at the scene around 5:15 a.m., the complete structure was engulfed in flames.
The fire house was built in the 2000s, so crews are stumped at how the fire started.
