News report: Firefighter killed after tanker overturns in NC
A firefighter was killed and another was injured Tuesday afternoon after the fire truck they were in overturned in Franklin County.
Details about what happened weren’t immediately clear, but the truck overturned sometime after 5 p.m. on Sykes Road, near Seven Paths Road, in Louisburg.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating. The firefighters were members of Justice Rural Volunteer Fire Department on nearby N.C. 581, Jones said.
The injured firefighter was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh, he said.
