Raw video as historic Bethel, CT home burns – evacuation ordered

Above is raw video from PICTURES BY PAULA of a house fire last Monday afternoon (December 22) that destroyed the historic Daniel Hickok house at 13 Blackman Street in Bethel, Connecticut. Airhorns are sounded at 6:00 into the video. According to news coverage the 254 year old home once provided shelter for Benedict Arnold.

Skyler Magnoli, CTPost.com:

The Hickok family was one of the earliest to settle in what is now Bethel. Capt. Daniel Hickok and his family are believed to have provided shelter for Benedict Arnold, David Wooster and Gold Selleck Silliman, who were brigadier generals in the Continental Army, on the night of April 26, 1777, when the British were set to invade Danbury the following morning.
