Now watch the video from the woman whose phone was destroyed by a U.S. Marshal

New video confirms a woman whose phone was grabbed, thrown and kicked by a U.S. Marshal was talking back to marshals prior to the incident. In the original video shot from across this street it was apparent the woman was telling the marshals something. This latest video is from the woman’s camera and you hear her saying she was not moving and had a right to be where she was. This happened prior to the confrontation that destroyed her phone.

Many people commenting on this case think the woman’s actions are justification for the actions by the U.S. Marshal. Yes, there are laws that allow law enforcement to secure a scene for their safety and the safety of others. Someone violating that could be removed or arrested. But the last I heard there were also laws that protect us from police or others taking and destroying our property. In addition, courts have ruled that taking pictures or video of police activity in a public area where there is no expectation of privacy is not against the law.
