Four-year-old boy fills the boot for CA firefighters after they help his mom
After Cody Bassey saw firefighters in Vacaville, California come to the rescue of his mother recently, he decided to return the favor and started raising money to help out the firefighters. The firefighters were so impressed with the gesture they made Cody a firefighter for the day.
Cody Bassey, 4, of Vacaville did a nice thing earlier this month, opening a cookie stand and raising funds for the Vacaville Fire Department’s charity fund.
On Monday, he learned a invaluable lesson: When you do nice things for others, nice things happen to you.
Cody was declared a Vacaville Firefighter for the Day in honor of his efforts, and the declaration came with some up-close time at Vacaville’s Station 71 on Orchard Avenue.
