A memorial service is scheduled this (Saturday) afternoon for Kansas City Fire Department Firefighter Larry Leggio and Firefighter John Mesh. The two were killed during a collapse at a fire Monday night. STATter911.com expects to carry live streaming of the service.

Recently released radio recordings between firefighters and emergency dispatch detail what was heard that night at Independence and Prospect avenues. Eighteen minutes before the deadly collapse that killed Larry Leggio and John Mesh, the first firefighters were running into the inferno. Fifteen minutes before firefighters evacuated, rescuers started looking for two people still inside.
