Firefighters turn firehouse bay into a car wash focusing on those hard to reach places

A simple invention by two Waukee (Iowa) firefighters had the Internet abuzz this weekend. Mark McClintic and Lt. Nathan Wise recently made a drive-thru truck washing system that removes salt and sand from the department’s fire engines using items found at a hardware store.

A video of the homemade system was posted to the city of Waukee’s Facebook page, and it wasn’t long after that the fire department was fielding calls for instructions. So McClintic and Wise created another video explaining how it was made.
