Fire Tuesday in Angelina County.
The Hudson and Central volunteer fire departments and the Lufkin Fire Department have responded to a house fire at 4630 state Highway 103 west.
Shawn Murphy, the homeowner, said that on Tuesday night he and his wife smelled wires burning in the back portion of the home, so he shut the power off to that section.
“This morning, my wife went to work and I went to get my cockatiel bird’s wings clipped,” Murphy said. “As I was leaving I smelled something funny, but it didn’t dawn on me so I just left.”
