I would never want to be part of a social network that would have me

Well I finally did it. I signed up for Firefighter Nation. Dave Iannone has only been bugging (or was it begging) me about it since he started the website more than a year ago. The headline to this entry, stolen from Groucho Marx and updated to the electronic age, probably summed up my feelings about the subject.

Another reason I avoided it is that I have watched my wife with her Facebook page (Iannone is one of her friends … hmmm). She is on it all of the time. It is an addiction. I don’t have time for an addiction other than keeping this site going.

Mrs. STATter 911 is still mad about Mr. STATter 911 refusing to be her friend (I have a Facebook account for work, but never use it). And let’s face it she is a friendly person, I am not a very nice guy.

As for Firefighter Nation I have always thought it was another one of Dave’s brilliant ideas. Now we will see how I can deal with it.

The good news is that I joined about three hours or so before Chris Hebert. Even though he is part of the company and deputy web master, I can still claim seniority.

For my old friends from OHVFD, Firefighter Nation finally gives me a place to put up some old pictures and not have to bore the readers at STATter 911. Check them out.
