Police report: SC firefighter tangled in hose after trying to jump on rig that backed over him
The initial police report on the death of Conway Firefighter Christopher Ray released by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety says Ray tried to jump on the back of the fire engine that backed over him on March 20.
The report says the driver of the fire engine was attempting to back up at the house fire on Hickory Circle in Conway. Ray was in the road and attempted to jump onto the fire truck, slipped and got tangled in the fire house.
The truck then backed over Ray in the road, the report said.
