Some drama this (Tuesday) morning in San Francisco.
Police say a woman stole an ambulance in the Tenderloin District while medical personnel were responding to an emergency at the Ambassador Hotel.
The woman crashed the ambulance at the Treasure Island exit off eastbound I-80 after a police chase, a causing a huge plume of smoke to rise in the air.
The San Francisco Fire Department ambulance was stolen around 8 a.m. Crews left it running as they went inside the hotel to check on a patient.
The suspect refused treatment and was taken into custody.
