(Thanks to reader Christian Thibault for sending this to STATter911.com.)

A tanker truck driver was killed yesterday (Tuesday) trapped in the cab of his vehicle after a collision followed by a fire on a Montreal Highway. The video above from Pascal Marchand (The 4K Guy – Fire / Police / EMS) includes video shot moments after the multi-vehicle collision occurs and begins just before fuel on the road ignites. More video below.

Here’s some of the description with the video:

At 4h pm yesterday a spectacular fiery crash left one person dead and multiple others injured on Highway 40 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Incredible video footage show a man trying to rescue a truck driver moments after the collision, while fire is starting to break out. The accident happened on at a busy time of the day on an elevated portion of a highway in Montreal near St-Denis Street.

The Canadian Press:

One person died and six others were injured Tuesday after a tanker truck carrying what authorities said were hazardous materials crashed on a highway in Montreal and erupted in flames.

Provincial police spokesman Jimmy Potvin said the victim, the driver of the tanker truck, was a man in his 40s.

Potvin said four vehicles collided on the raised autoroute in the city’s north end at about 4 p.m.
