Charlotte and Mecklenburg Fire

Charlotte – Mecklenburg Police

Reports of at least one person shot around 8:30 p.m. during protests in Charlotte. WSOC-TV reporter Paul Boyd was streaming live when shots were fired. He reports one person shot.

Reporters also say that police have now fired tear gas.

Night two of protests against the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott began shortly before 7 p.m. at the corner of Trade and Tryon streets.

The group stayed stationary for a short period of time before marching down Trade Street to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Hundreds were expected throughout the evening as Charlotte-Mecklenburg police prepared for another long night, but hopefully a more peaceful one.
