DC Fire & EMS Department Firefighter Norman Brooks spoke out again about his Facebook posts that have brought scorn and scrutiny from some, and support from others. Brooks is on his second round of administrative duty after his July Facebook posts encouraged violence against what he called “racist” police officers. At the same time Brooks is speaking out, DC Fire & EMS keeps everyone, including a TV anchorman, wondering about its actions.

In an interview yesterday (Thursday) with WTTG-TV/FOX5’s Shawn Yancy and Tony Perkins, Brooks stood by his initial posts and a follow-up post that surfaced earlier this month. The latest post came after a police involved killing of a man in Tulsa on September 16 where Brooks referred to his July comment and wrote that it was “another example of why my infamous Facebook posts needed to be said.”

Prior to the most recent post, the DC Fire and EMS Department quietly put Brooks back on full duty. There has never been an official explanation given about what happened to the previously announced internal investigation and police department investigation into the July posts. During yesterday’s interview, Brooks claimed he was not found guilty of violating any department policy after the July comments.

There has also been no explanation from DC Fire and EMS following the most recent post other than to confirm that Brooks is again on administrative duty. When prompted by a question from Brooks, anchor Tony Perkins expressed surprise that based on the department’s social media policy Brooks has not been fired for his posts.

Here’s some of what Norman Brook said in the interview:

“I mean, you know, it was a very emotional time for me. It was a crazy video that I witnessed – a lot of people witnessed it. I said what I said,” Brooks said. “My views are my views, similar to my brother Colin Kaepernick and I am going to continue to express my views as long as the situation is the way that it is – until we can fix this systematic suppression I’m going to continue to express my opinion.”

The July posts from Brooks came immediately after a controversial police involved shooting in Baton Rouge. Louisiana. Those posts (see transcript of posts below) encouraged people to “target racist cops.” Brooks wrote “those pigs in Baton Rouge deserve nothing short of a bullet in their heads.” The posts came 11 days before the murders of three Baton Rouge police officers.

As I wrote earlier this month, the DC Fire and EMS Department is not doing itself, its firefighters (including Brooks) and its citizens any favors by continuing the silent treatment over Norman Brooks. All are due a clear explanation about what has been done, what is being done now and why the actions have been taken. Otherwise everyone is left without a clear understanding of department policies. The lack of transparency is exactly how you end up with a TV anchor wondering aloud during a live interview why a firefighter hasn’t been fired.

Bottom line:

These racist ass cops who are murdering our people need to start turning up the same way… they shouldn’t feel safe walking the streets and neither should their supporters. Protesting is a lost cause and it makes us all look like a bunch a pussies. These evil mfs don’t have any compassion. They are gonna let them PIGS go free and probably start a gofundme and make em millionaires…….

It’s time to stop praying, stop protesting, start buying guns, and start protecting ourselves from those crooked ass racist cops. If you are a cop and not in support of these people then its about time to start turning these type a mfs in or at least givin out some addresses so we the people can handle em.

End of rant (Please share)

The answer is “yes”…I’m saying the citizens should take the law in their own hands and target racist cops. Those pigs in baton Rouge deserve nothing short of a bullet in their heads. See how their families feel after that.
