Above is a Facebook Post that Lowell Melser of WBAL-TV reports was written by a Baltimore County Fire Department lieutenant using an alias. The TV station only reported on the last part of the post, I think what came before it is just as interesting.

Lowell Melser, WBAL-TV:

One post that used an alias talks about racial tensions within the department. The person wrote: “We are a new generation of African-Americans, and you will get yo (expletive) whipped. Please don’t let Mr. Trump get you (expletive) up.”

“We’ve spent a lot of time educating our Fire Department personnel about appropriate use of personal social media,” Baltimore County Fire Department spokeswoman Elise Armacost said. “We have made it clear in our policy, and through our disciplinary process, that we don’t tolerate any kind of disrespectful racial posts that disparage.”

The Fire Department is looking into whether any of its social media policy rules were broken.

“We don’t want to see anybody’s career ruined or derailed because they engaged in inappropriate social media behavior,” Armacost said.
