A fire yesterday (Saturday) in Pohatcong Township, New Jersey (Warren County) was extinguished by three police officers assisting Fire Chief Dave Cupon who arrived, by himself, driving the first-in engine.

According to lehighvalleylive.com reporter Pamela Sroka-Holzmann, the fire was reported around 4:30 p.m. on Pinchers Point Road. Two people inside escaped before help arrived.

Pamela Sroka-Holzmann, lehighvalleylive.com:

Officer Bobby Paulus arrived first at the scene, along with Officers Sierra DiMaio and James Heebner, a former fire chief in Alpha.

Cupon threw out the hose to the officers, who worked to knock down the blaze.

Police had the flames under control within about 20 minutes, Paulus said. By the time other fire units arrived, the flames were knocked down, he said.
