FFs from VA, MD and DC remembered in Emmitsburg

As we head to Emmitsburg in the morning where 110 firefighters will be honored, I didn’t want to forget to mention the three firefighters from our region whose names will be called on Sunday.

From left to right, Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue Technician I Kyle Wilson, DC Fire & EMS Department Firefighter Technician James McRae and Baltimore City Fire Department Firefighter-Apprentice Racheal Wilson.

While we have written many words about all three, here are official descriptions of these deaths from the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation:

Technician I Kyle Wilson, age 24, of the Prince William County Department of Fire-Rescue died after becoming trapped in structural collapse at a working residential structure fire on April 16, 2007.

Firefighter Technician James McRae, age 36, of the District of Columbia Fire & EMS died of a heart attack within 24 hours of multiple calls on July 7, 2007.

Firefighter-Apprentice Racheal Wilson, age 29, of the Baltimore City Fire Department died from burns received during a live fire training on February 9, 2007.
