At least three people have been confirmed dead in a train crash involving a charter bus at the Main Street railroad crossing in Biloxi.
Biloxi Police Chief John Miller confirmed the fatalities in a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency personnel were scrambling to remove some 50 people from the bus, which is from Austin, Texas, Miller said.
It’s unclear how many people were injured in the 2:12 p.m. crash.

A train has collided with a charter bus at Main St. in Biloxi, according to officials. Witnesses said the bus appeared stuck on the tracks and the eastbound train hit the bus broadside.
Officials are confirming fatalities.
The CSX train was eastbound when it collided with a charter bus that was heading north. Emergency crews are removing people through the emergency windows.
