A firefighter fell five stories off a roof to his death while battling a fire in Queens Thursday, officials said.

Paramedics rushed the firefighter to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in critical condition, where he died.

The fire started on the second floor in the 25-apartment building, according to the FDNY.

A firefighter died Thursday when he fell off the roof of a five-story apartment building where he was battling a blaze, officials and sources said.

The injured firefighter was on the roof while attempting to extinguish the flames when he fell off the roof, sources said.

He was going between the roof and a ladder basket when he fell, according to a witness.

“One of them was controlling the ladder and the other was in the basket. I was in my apartment looking out the window and then all of a sudden I saw him fall,” said neighbor Angie Cordero, 43. “I ran inside screaming hysterically asking for help. I didn’t want to look down.”
