It’s always nice to see public safety professionals doing their jobs well. The Philadelphia Police Department officer in the video above is completely unfazed as this woman goes off on him.
According to Victor Fiorillo at phillymag.com, the 28-year-old woman had been thrown out of Helium Comedy Club during a performance by Craig Robinson, best known for his role as Darryl on the TV show “The Office.” No matter how good Robinson was Sunday, the performance of the night was out on the street and came from this police officer.
Despite all of the ugly things Colleen Campbell has to say, the officer only arrests Colleen Campbell when she really leaves him no other choice. And even after putting her in cuffs, the officer totally ignores Campbell’s escalating taunts.
If the rest of the world had the temperament of this officer it would be a better place. There’s a lot to learn from this video.
By the way, Campbell has experience performing before the camera. We learned this after the handcuffs are on her and she says to the officer, “I work at a fucking news station, motherfucker.”
Actually Campbell, if she had her wits about her, would have realized — as anyone who has viewed this realized instantly — that for the sake of accuracy she should have used the word “worked.” On Monday, WPHL-TV, where Campbell was employed as on-air “talent,” had scrubbed her from the station’s website.
The good news for Campbell is that what may be her final on-camera performance is likely being viewed by more people than anything else she had done in her brief TV career. Campbell has Wil Sylvince to thank for that. Sylvince was another comic at Helium Sunday night. As of this posting Sylvince’s video had 750,000 views. And I have STATter911.com reader Brian Slattery to thank for sending this my way.
The most shocking thing about this Facebook post is that Wil Sylvince believes Colleen Campbell wasn’t drunk or high. Wow!
You can read more about the incident here. Below is the account Wil Sylvince posted with the video:
About last night: this very obnoxious lady, who wasn’t drunk (nor high I think) was disturbing the show with her “loud whispering”. After 3 warnings and other customers were complaining she was asked to leave.
When she got kicked out she assaulted (kicking, punching, and eye poking) 3 of the employees in bar area right outside the showroom and then outside she mock spit in the mangers face when a cop came. She verbally abused this poor cop who was trying to keep the peace at first.
The show was great though! Love me some Philly! Thank you
