Read HFD preliminary damage assessment

While much of the news media has rightly been focused on the big chemical fire there are still other fires occurring in and around Houston with many obstacles in the way of firefighters. In this fire, the video shows the fire apparatus was able to get a bit closer than some other fires we’ve shown you, but firefighters still have to wade through waste infested waters.

On Thursday Houston Fire Department released a preliminary assessment of resources damaged or destroyed by Harvey. This is what was reported about the fire stations. Read the entire evaluation here. The report notes that 72 firefighters have lost their homes.

KTRK-TV:

A multifamily complex has been destroyed by an out of control fire inside a flooded community off Memorial Drive.

Houston firefighters are still battling the fire at the building on Memorial and Kirkwood Drive.

Their efforts are being hampered by the burglar bars around the facility.
