Pre-arrival video (above) from a fire yesterday (Thursday) on Decatur Avenue in the Fordham section of the Bronx. There are multiple people at windows as firefighters arrive, including one brought down an aerial ladder by FDNY.

Also check out at about 5:30 as the fire lights up two windows away from where the initial fire is showing. A man living in the apartment where the fire started has been charged with arson. Five people were hurt in the fire. More video below from steady’s miracle.

Officials with the FDNY said the fire spread from the fourth floor to the fifth floor — where a resident became trapped. Firefighters jumped into action to rescue him.

“He was straddling the window and threatening to jump and we were pleading at him to not jump out the window. He was having difficulty breathing, he was choking, he was coughing. He basically was running out of air,” FDNY Deputy Chief Michael Gunning said. “We got the ladder up there just in time.”
