Two firefighters were hospitalized after they were shot at a Long Beach senior home.
Details regarding their conditions were not immediately available.
The shooting was reported at a high-rise building in the 600 block of East 4th Street after authorities responded to reports of an explosion and gunfire.

Two firefighters and one civilian sustained injuries at a Long Beach retirement home where shots were heard early Monday, fire officials said.
Footage from the scene shows several law enforcement officers and firefighters near 600 E. 4th Street, where the Long Beach Fire Department was called about a fire alarm.

Police were investigating a reported shooting at a senior living center in Long Beach, officials said early Monday.
Firefighters rushed to Covenant Manor after a report of a fire alarm but by the time they arrived the situation had transitioned into a shooting incident, said Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jake Heflin. Two firefighters were injured, he said.
Firefighters responding to an explosion at a high- rise Long Beach apartment building were met by gunfire, according to reports from the scene.
The Covenant Manor, which is in the area of Atlantic Avenue and Fourth Street, was surrounded by police early today. The building is a retirement home for seniors.
