Have you seen this guy? Police say firefighter tried to sell NY brush truck in MD

Former volunteer failed to show in court after February arrest

Early this year Claude Bruce was a volunteer firefighter with Ephratah Volunteer Fire Department in Fort Plain, New York. Now he’s a fugitive from justice.

At the end of February, police say Firefighter Bruce stole the department’s $125,000 brush truck. According to police, Firefighter Bruce stripped the truck at his home and drove it to Cumberland, Maryland where he tried to sell the vehicle. Bruce was arrested in Cumberland. But now there’s a warrant for Bruce’s arrest because he failed to show in court after being released on his own recognizance. If you have information, New York State Police ask that you call (315) 366-6000 or email Crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.
