Engine 427, West Springfield, responded to a ruff and far-fetched rescue last night. A small dog was trapped in an HVAC duct. Crews took a paws to shed light on dogs location and work out strategy. The big unanswered question that the news stories I’ve seen don’t address is how did the dog get in the HVAC duct. My guess is a floor vent without a grille on it, but I would love to know more.
