News report: Virginia investigating white supremacist EMT

This morning (Saturday) HuffingtonPost.com published an article by national reporter Christopher Matthias about 35-year-old Alex McNabb, a Commonwealth of Virginia EMT.  Matthias describes McNabb as a white supremacist who is the co-host of “The Daily Shoah”, a neo-Nazi podcast. McNabb has appeared on more than 100 episodes of the podcast. Matthias reports McNabb has used racial slurs and compared black patients to animals. Here’s a YouTube link to some of the episodes with McNabb.

The article also says that McNabb is an administrator of the Facebook Page “The Final Solution to the Optics Problem”. The “final solution” is a reference to Hitler’s plan to rid the world of Jews.

The Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Emergency Medical Services has confirmed for Matthias that McNabb is under investigation following a late November anonymous complaint. McNabb has referred to his role as an EMT on the podcast and in his tweets.

There are no criminal charges against McNabb and he is allowed to continue working as an EMT while the investigation is underway. Steve Allen, the Emergency Services Coordinator for Virginia’s Patrick County told Matthias that McNabb is a paid employee of Jeb Stuart Rescue Squad. There has been no comment from Jeb Stuart Rescue. In reaction to today’s article, McNabb suggested on Twitter that people support Jeb Stuart Rescue:

McNabb has used the Twitter account to pitch for donations to Jeb Stuart Rescue on a number of other occasions. This same account espouses McNabb’s white supremacist and neo-Nazi views. Matthias reports McNabb has posted pictures of himself in his EMT uniform on social media. After the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, there were tweets about McNabb being at the rally. The tweets focused on alerting a private ambulance service where they believed McNabb worked at the time.

Matthias wrote that his look into McNabb found no indication the EMT treated patients differently because of their race, ethnicity or sexual orientation. In a November 30 episode of “The Daily Shoah”, McNabb made a point to say he treats all of patients the same: “You have a fucking duty, to go out there and give 100 percent on every single call. It doesn’t matter what race or color or what situation it is.”

Alex McNabb has been spending part of today on Twitter responding to critics and supporters and reacting to the Huffington Post article.

I encourage you to read the entire article by Matthias. It’s quite an interesting set of circumstances. The excerpt below focuses on “Dr. Narcan”, portrayed by McNabb as a regular segment for “The Daily Shoah”. According to Matthias, McNabb often uses the term “dindus” when talking about black patients. Matthias says it’s a common racist slur used by members of the alt-right.

In an Oct. 4, 2016, episode, during a Dr. Narcan segment, McNabb referenced an apartment complex that houses people from “all over Africa and West Africa.” He said emergency workers called it “Ebola Alley.” He then called a black woman a “Dinduisha” and compared her to a shaved “Harambe,” referring to the famous gorilla.

“It’s hard to find a dindu vein anyway, because they’re black,” he said during the episode.

He then told another story of an “unruly young African-American male child running around” an emergency room.

“As it turned out, this young African-American male was there to get blood drawn, so guess who volunteered to take his blood?” he told his co-hosts, who laughed in response. “Dr. Narcan enjoyed great, immense satisfaction as he terrorized this youngster with a needle and stabbed him thusly in the arm with a large-gauge IV catheter.”
