Helmet-cam video from Oklahoma City Fire Department taken during a house fire yesterday (Friday) morning. Here’s the description with the video:
Just before midnight, firefighters were busy battling a house fire in the 1500 block of NW. 7th Street. As you can see from the video, the home was well involved when firefighters arrived.
The crew from Rescue Ladder 1 was assigned to search the home to make sure nobody was inside. They entered through the rear of the home, thermal imaging camera in hand, and confirmed that nobody was inside just before they were ordered to exit the structure. The fire had progressed, and a fire attack from the exterior would ensue.
Once safely back outside and accounted for, the crew from Rescue Ladder 1 focused their attention on an adjacent home that was exposed to the fire and smoke. They made entry, searched for occupants, and even checked the attic for potential fire.
Luckily, nobody was home in the original fire structure. Nobody was injured during this incident, but the home was a total loss. The cause of the fire was undetermined.
