Today’s Quote of the Day comes from Lawrence Fire Chief Brian Moriarty: “He’s blocking our water, we needed water bad.”
The takeaway: this is why you should never park in front of a hydrant. #wcvb pic.twitter.com/xZMgBcF57z— Nichole Berlie (@NicholeBerlie) June 22, 2019

Firefighters were forced to do some damage to an illegally parked car to fight a three-alarm blaze in Lawrence.
The vehicle was parked in front of the nearest hydrant to the fire, according to Lawrence Fire Chief Brian Moriarty.
Crews had to smash through the driver’s and front passenger’s windows in order to feed a hose to the hydrant.
“The companies did what they had to do to get water flowing,” Moriarty said. “(There’s) a very good main out here. He was blocking our water, (and) we needed water bad.”
