Farmington police confirm that one firefighter was killed and six others were injured in an explosion Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to 313 Farmington Falls Road just after 8 a.m., which is also Route 2, after people in the building reported smelling propane.
When firefighters arrived, the building exploded, according to police.
The name of the firefighter who was killed has not been released. Police said he was a longtime member of the department.
The injured include 4 firefighters, a LEAP employee and a Northstar employee, police said.
