Fairfax County police and fire investigators now confirm a deadly fire early Thursday morning is considered suspicious.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, multiple fires were set on the second floor of the home on Eddyspark Dr. The bodies of two people were found in separate upstairs bedrooms. It is unclear if the victims were dead before the fire was set.

Investigators say they are waiting for an autopsy to determine cause of death and positive identification of the victims. For now, investigators believe the victims are a married couple, in their 50s, who owned the home.

Officials say the fire was first reported by a neighbor around 4:00 Thursday morning. Crews arriving on the scene found heavy fire showing from the two-story home in the 12000 block of Eddyspark Dr. A second-alarm was dispatched to the call.

Neighbors reported the fire after being awakened by their dog. They say the home belongs to a couple who have lived in the area approximately 20 years.
