A large fire is burning out of control in Southern Fairfax County Virginia this morning. It apparently started in a large complex under construction and has spread to other structures. There are reports of water supply problems. The location is near Route 1 and North Kings Highway. There’s been an evacuation of nearby townhomes.

One of the most recent transmissions was a report of smoke coming from the roof of a 7-11 store nearby. A separate event and alarm was dispatched to that incident. Update: This turned out to be a minor fire on the roof.

(Note: You will see reference to Alexandria in some of these tweets. While there’s mutual aid from the Alexandria Fire Department this fire is location in Fairfax County.)
