One firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling a fire in the The Thruway Plaza in Nanuet Tuesday afternoon.

Officials believe the fire started around 1:35 p.m. in the Thruway Deli on Route 59, which was closed and unoccupied at the time, Clarkstown police said.

The deli suffered the most severe damage but the other stores in the row, which were vacant except for the next-door Dunkin’, suffered smoke damage, police said.
