Bruce Proude & Chris Hall, Port Perry Star:
Three firefighters were taken to hospital as a precaution after they were injured at the scene of a Scugog Island house explosion.
Scugog firefighters and other emergency services were dispatched to a home on Fralick’s Beach Road just after 10 a.m. on June 9 for a report of a house fire, say Durham police.
At some point, there was an explosion that prompted police officers to push back the crowd of onlookers that had gathered at the scene. Discussions amongst the emergency services said that propane and oxygen tanked had exploded, which sent debris onto the nearby roadway.
