H1N1: Information is key. Or is it? Different strokes for different governors.

The flu formerly known as swine has two governors, separated by a river, taking different approaches on what information to release to the public. In an interesting article this morning by The Washington Post’s Ashley Halsey III and Anita Kumar, the flu public information policies of Maryland and Virginia are dissected.

In both cases the front men are the governors. Martin O’Malley for Maryland and Tim Kaine in Virginia. Marylanders are hearing specifics on probable cases of H1N1 that greatly narrow down geography. Virginians aren’t getting that type of information.
