A two-alarm fire in the South End this morning sent firefighters racing to rescue a woman and two kids who were trapped on the top floor in what’s being hailed as a “great team save.”
The department reported a “heavy fire” was spotted at a four-story apartment house at 68 West Newton Street just after 8 a.m. The fire was quickly “knocked down,” the department added.
“Firefighters rescued a woman and two children from the top floor balcony,” the department tweeted. “A great team save by the members of Ladder 4. Working together for a positive outcome.”
