Four people, including two firefighters, were killed in a house fire early Friday morning in the northwestern Oklahoma town of Waynoka, authorities confirmed with KOCO 5.

According to fire officials, a resident called 911 at about 3 a.m., saying they were stuck in the bedroom of a home near East Locust Street and Main Street.

Firefighters were called shortly after 3 a.m. to a home in the 1700 block of Locust Street in Waynoka.

The Waynoka Fire Department requested help from the Alva Fire Department shortly before 3:30 a.m. after the Waynoka firefighters reported the front door was blocked by fire, the fire marshals said.

The two firefighters went inside the home looking for residents when the roof collapsed, said Les Washnock, the fire and rescue chaplain for Pond Creek Fire and EMS, on social media.
